This is the case, for example, for deputies or senators aspiring to a governorship and who are, for now, still without new definitions. This Saturday, Morena's leadership held a new session of its National Council. This is due, according to official sources, to a series of differences that arose between the president of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde, and Head of State Claudia Sheinbaum. That is, the deadlines, registration days, and various dates of the selection process so that each official figure can begin to know what their near future will be, and among other things, when they should request a leave of absence or resign from their current position if they wish to compete for another office. The National Council held by Morena's leadership this weekend left the best repercussions within the party. This includes, for example, a series of internal rules that each figure aspiring to an office in 2027 must respect. According to this explanation, the party leader would have handed over the roadmap and details of the calls for the different internal disputes to the head of state, but the draft would not have received her approval. The most important thing the party leadership approved were the 'general criteria' of the internal process that will define next year's elections. However, the details that each of these figures must follow to achieve a candidacy, that is, the day of registrations, the duration of the internal positioning, or when the surveys that will be used to define said positions will be conducted, are still not confirmed. Morena anticipates selection of pre-candidates for governorships in June. To cope with the lack of definitions experienced this weekend, Morena's leadership also approved two other points that, in essence, also reveal nothing new. The second was the 'organizational strategy of the municipal councils' of the party, which will not have electoral functions or functions for defining candidacies.
